The immersive exhibition Below the Ice with Mario Cyr invites the audience on a journey to a mysterious and almost-inaccessible place: the Canadian Arctic. As they travel through images taken from filmmaker Mario Cyr’s expeditions, visitors will be drawn into the breathtaking beauty of the spectacular landscapes. Polar bears, walruses, narwhals, sea angels and large marine mammals cross his path. Witnessing the magnificence of these endangered landscapes and the creatures that inhabit them, visitors will also become aware of their fragility.

The exhibition Below the ice with Mario Cyr is presented at the Éloize Studios – Old Montreal from June 2 to October 31, 2021, and at Quebec City Convention Center as of December 18, 2021.

About Mario Cyr

Mario Cyr is a world-renowned reference in the film and wildlife documentary field. As an underwater cinematographer, he's collaborated on more than 150 productions, including for Disney Productions, Imax 3D, BBC NHK, TV Tokyo, The Explorers, France 2,  David Suzuki, National Geographic and The Cousteau Society. His long career and passion for ocean life have led him to discover the world's seas, meeting the most admired and enigmatic animals on our planet along the way.

Is the exhibition available in both French and English?

Yes, the explanatory texts accompanying the exhibition are provided in both languages. French audio content is subtitled in English; English audio content is subtitled in French.

When can we visit the exhibition? 

The exhibition is presented in Montreal until October 31st, 2021.

Until September 6th included:

  • Monday to Sunday from 10:00am to 7:15pm

Starting September 7th:

  • Monday to Wednesday 1:00pm – 6:15pm
  • Thursday 1:00pm – 8:15pm
  • Friday and Saturday 10:00am – 7:15pm
  • Sunday 10:00am – 6:15pm

Entries every 15 minutes.

What are the prices?

Why is it important to respect the time slot allocated on your ticket? 

It allows us to manage the flow of visitors throughout the exhibition to ensure a safe and optimal experience. Each time slot is limited to 22 people.

Can I cancel or change my ticket? 

No, we can't reschedule or refund tickets. If you have any questions, please email us at  billets@souslesglaces.com.

Do children under 5 years old pay entrance fees?

The admission is free for children aged to 0 to 5; however, a Free Admission ticket is required to allow us to control the number of visitors and ensure the social distances.

Is the exhibition accessible to people with reduced mobility? 

Yes, our studios are equipped to accommodate people with reduced mobility. 

Is there a coat check service? 

No, we don't have a coat check or lockers for your personal belongings.

Are pets permitted on site? 

No, animals are not be allowed on site, except certified service dogs.

Are there bathrooms on site?

Yes, we have bathrooms available to use in our studios.

Is parking available at the studio?

No, we don't have parking available on site. However, there are several paid parking lots close by: Clock Tower Quay parking lot (25$) or 330 Champs-de-Mars (20$).

What security/sanitary measures will be in place? 

The exhibition offers visitors a safe museum-style experience. Visitors will move around without contact while respecting social distancing measures. Facemasks are mandatory at all times. Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19, or who have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19 must stay at home. Management reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone who fails to comply with these measures.
